Brianne Theisen seems like an insatiable perfectionist. Her best feels OK, and anything less is a disappointment.

After she won the NCAA heptathlon title for the second year in a row she rued over missing an opportunity to top 6,100 points.

That isn’t a criticism, just a glimpse into what drives the junior from Saskatoon. Her standards are very high and so are her achievements.

Here is the NCAA.com recap I wrote, which leads with Theisen’s victory.

The Oregonian’s story about the Oregon women also led with Theisen’s heptathlon win.

And finally, the NCAA.com story I wrote about the men led off with Sam Chelanga, who has done some pretty amazing things in distance running this year. If he becomes a U.S. citizen any time soon, he could instantly become a candidate to make the 2012 Olympic team.
