Doug Binder – Founder, Co-Editor

Doug Binder is an award-winning sports journalist for 16 years and currently serves as senior editor for ESPN HS Dyestat.  Doug covered the 2001, 2007 and 2009 NCAA Track and Field  Championships, the 2007 and 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships, the 2008 Olympic  Trials and the 2009 U.S. Track and Field Championships. Prior to his work at Portland’s  daily paper, The Oregonian, he spent three years at the Corvallis Gazette-Times and the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. He is a published author (“Send Me A Sign,” 2005) and his work has been published in Runner’s World, The Washington Post, the Denver Post, the Syracuse Post Standard, and many others.  He developed an interest for track and field at Portland’s Grant High School, where he was coached by Mark Cotton.

 

 

 


Jim McDannald – Founder, Co-Editor

Jim McDannald is a writer, mobile app creator and assistant distance coach at McGill University.  In 2009, Jim developed TrackGeek to bring running/track and field news, results, photos and videos to mobile devices.  While growing up in Illinois, he competed for St. Joseph-Ogden High School and Augustana College cross country and track.  His love of track and field and running were nurtured by his first coach and father, John.
